Sof Cia
Sofia is a multi-disciplinary artist based in London. She grew up between Florence and New York - while renaissance art trained her to a sexualised representation of femininity, and third-wave American movement encouraged her to embrace individualism and diversity.
As a millennial, her reality is influenced by the post-feminist media age, and her work responds with absolute transparency to modern narrative conventions. Her motivations are sparked by the desire to expose the contradictions of millennial generation, highlighting the problems of online communication.
Through a combination of body art and media technology, she investigates the value of the female body in an hyperconnected and commodified society. And using her body as an art object, she seeks conclusions about how identity is converted into economic capital.
