In November 2021, The Artsphere Global hosted an evening to raise awareness to The Turing Trust. Thanks to all the support The Turing Trust was able to install a total of 20 PCs in Kawale Community Day Secondary School in Malawi, benefitting 150 girls and 184 boys to learn digital skills for the first time!

Moreover, 2 teachers from the school have also been trained in digital pedagogy to support their students with their new equipment. Furthermore, the school has received networking equipment as well enabling The Turing Trust to also install their e-Library - and  offline e-learning system. They have been continually improving this system with new materials that are aligned to the Malawian Curriculum as well as developing their own materials that showcase local IT Heroines to demonstrate the possibilities for non-traditional career paths for girls.

The environmental impact from our donation will offset 35 tonnes of CO2 emissions, which is the equivalent of planting 90 trees, or offsetting the annual carbon footprints of 3 Britons. The embodied energy savings created are also enough to power 9 UK homes for a year as well.

It is lovely to feel that we have helped to give the opportunity for students who would otherwise not have the opportunity to learn and acquire computer skills that could change their lives.
