Sarah Emily Porter works from her East London studio where she explores colour and the historical context of painting. Inspired by architecture, interior design and geometry, she maps carefully considered
mathematical systems and orders to form a framework for the production of her paintings. With modernist ideas at the forefront of her work, she has created her own innovative painting tools which pour and manipulate paint on tilting wooden structures.
She has won numerous awards including The Richard Seager Annual Arts Award 2019, The London Festival of Architecture 2019 City Benches Competition and the Broomhill National Sculpture Prize 2018. She has exhibited internationally with work in collections across the world.
