Carri Fernanda is an emerging Mexican painter, sculptor, and ceramicist based in Mexico City. She cites influence by artists like Louise Bourgeois, drawing inspiration from confessional art: Combining its visual cleanliness with phrases of an intentional revelation of the private self. Her work is an intimate display exploring themes such as family, self-love, and fear.
‘I am interested in the atmosphere and the lightness of the painting. I have always used language in my works, but for these pieces I try to translate certain conversations through abstraction, and explore the power paint and color have over the human psyche. Every movement and every colour tells you something - you just have to listen.’
